Sick day

It's that time of the year...we had to get out the trusty nebulizer for Emmy today. She has her seasonal wheeze and cough. Thankfully we keep a stash of albuterol in the linen closet. What to do on a sick day???
  1. Read lots of good books
  2. Drink hot chocolate with a little peppermint mocha creamer added
  3. Color
  4. Play playdoh
  5. Read lots of good books
  6. Play on the computer
  7. Keep Mom on her toes

She also has a fever so I know that she will be spreading the love (or germs) as the weekend passes.

Ella's freedom from the dangler

FINALLY the infamous dangler has fallen out!! Last night while eating Carl's ice cream Ella lost her front tooth. It has literally been hanging on for weeks-this has been very traumatizing (to our whole family!!). She took a bite of the cone, screamed, we pulled over and there it was in her hand., Oh, and it bled a lot which was a bit unpleasent for Ella-yes, princesses do bleed like the rest of us.

Michael's Winter Concert

Michael had his first grade winter concert last night. This is his friend Ethan-they had a great time!!! The theme was "Helping Hands" and it was a night full of songs with very moving lyrics. It reminded me that there are many people who won't be enjoying a happy holiday this season. One song in particular focused on luxuries that we take for granted-warm homes, winter coats, food in our refridgerators, dinner on our tables-I do think that many times I forget that these things that I take for granted are just that-luxuries. So while the busy holiday comes upon us, I am going to try very hard to remember that Christmas is about so much more than the gifts that we pile under our tree.
