Happy Birthday morning

8 years old
Ella got a LIV doll and some clothes

Michael got a Star Wars comforter and....

Lego Batman!!!!
I cannot believe that Michael and Ella are now 8 years old. I remember the day they were born so clearly. I had been feeling miserable the day before and had major cramps. Grandma Choo Choo was going to be in the middle of nowhere (Southern IL) and kept asking me if I thought she should stay home-nah, I told her-they aren't due for like three weeks!!! The morning of the 13th I woke up and as I stood beside the bed I thought-holy cow, I just wet my pants!!! Nope..that would be Michael's amniotic fluid!! Peris was sick with a cold so we took her downstairs, made all of the necessary phone calls and headed to St. Francis. Upon arrival, the wise nurse put me in a triage room with a doubtful look on her face (working in labor I now understand that women come in all the time "ruptured" or "in labor"). Once I informed her that I was pregnant with twins, the tone definately changed!! The doc said yep it's amniotic fluid and away we went. Michael came at 11:26 a.m. and Ella followed at 11:27 a.m. weighing in at 6lbs and 6lb 1oz-not bad for babies who were almost a month early!! And where was Grandma Choo Choo?? Freaking out in Uncle John's car rushing back to Peoria where there was still plenty of excitement to be had!!
Oh how life changed!!
There has never been a dull moment since!

The Rader Farm Birthday Extravaganza

On Saturday we celebrated Michael and Ella's 8th birthday party at Rader Family Pumpkin Farm. It was pretty cold, but the kids didn't mind. They climed on a hay maze, picked out pumpkins, and had a weiner roast. Take a look at the pictures below to see the fun time had by all:

Featured Friend

Fiona is ending up her week as Mrs. Schumacher's first grade Featured Friend. This time honored tradition is a BIG deal in our house!! Featured Friend means that you get a really cool board that you fill out with all kind of things about you-pictures, drawings, etc. On Monday the board is taken in and shared with all of the other first graders-they get to compliment and ask questions! On Tuesday, Derek went in and read a Story favorite: The Boy Who Was Raised by Librarians. Mrs. Schumacher informed me that Derek is "a natural" in the classroom!! Wednesday Henry and I made a special trip in for show and tell. The kids thought it was HILARIOUS that Henry eats crayons!! My personal favorite was the little boy (who was petting Henry's belly at the time) who asked me if Henry was a boy dog or a girl dog? Ahh to be in first grade again. Thursday was a wash out (literally)! Uncle Tim (a.k.a. the recycle man) was to bring his cool recycle truck as a show and tell but it was pouring down rain. Then on Friday, Fiona was treated to a special lunch out with Mrs. Schumacher at the Bone Student Center. This is one of the billion things that makes our school so special!! Fiona felt VERY special all week long!! It was wonderful.
The photos below are from our visit to see Fiona on Thursday-Henry basked in the attention and LOVED all of the belly rubs-he has no shame!!
